USC golfers competing in conference tourney
Both the boys and girls United South Central golf teams remained in their positions after the third round of the four round Gopher Conference Golf Tournament was completed on Tuesday, May 13, at the Austin Country Club.
The boys stayed in third place and the girls were still in second place.
The final Round 4 is set for Thursday, May 22, at the Lakeside Golf Course in Waseca.
Boys Round 3 Results
The Rebels shot a team score of 377 for third place for Round 3, and they remained in third place after the three rounds with a team score of 1,142.
Blooming Prairie was in first with 334-981 and Randolph second with 347-1,005. Fourth after the third round was Hayfield, fifth was Kenyon-Wanamingo, sixth was Triton, seventh was NRHEG and JWP had an incomplete score.
Brennan Olson led the Rebels in the third round with a score of 78, tied for third place. His total score for the three rounds was 243 and he was in fourth place overall.
Mason Schrader shot an 87 and was tied for ninth place for the third round and tied for ninth place overall with a 275.
Dylan Stephens carded a 104 for the third round and was in 29th place for the third round and the overall with a total of 312. Ryder Anderson scored a 108 for the third round, and 321 overall and was in 34th place for the Round 3 and overall.
Girls Round 3 Results
The USC girls shot a 453 team score for Round 3. Triton took first with a 415. For the three rounds Triton leads with 1,300 and USC is in second with 1,395.
Kenyon-Wanamingo, Hayfield, New Richland-Hartland-Ellenedale-Geneva and Blooming Prairie all had incomplete team scores.
The Rebels’ Emma Heggen shot a 90 for the third round to tie for second place. Overall she is in second place with a score of 281.
Lauren Hanson shot a 108 on Tuesday good for eighth place and is also in eighth place overall with a three round tally of 353.
The next three USC golfers had scores just a point apart for the third round and for overall scores after the three rounds.
Brynlee Olson shot a 127 for 15th place in Round 3, but overall is at 13th place with a total of 390. Bella Roberts shot a 128 on Tuesday for 15th place and is in 10th place overall with a 388. Maya Hanson shot a 129 on Tuesday for 17th place and has a total score of 389 for the conference tourney and is tied for 11th place.
Gopher Conference
Round 2
The United South Central boys and girls golf teams participated in Round 2 of the Gopher Conference Tournament on Thursday, May 8, at the North Links Golf Course in North Mankato.
There are four total rounds for the conference tournament. Round 3 was set for Tuesday, May 13 at the Austin Country Club.
Boys Team Results
Hayfield took first place in Round 2 and remains in first place after the two rounds, with a total score of 647. Randolph is second at 708, Hayfield third at 755, USC fourth at 765, Kenyon-Wanamingo fifth at 776, NRHEG sixth at 790 and Triton seventh at 794. JWP had an incomplete team score.
Brennan Olson took the top spot for the Rebels shooting an 83-82=165 for the two rounds. He was in seventh place in Round 2 and sixth place overall.
Mason Schrader shot 88-100=188 and was in 11th place for Round 2 and 19th place overall.
Dylan Stephens was 34th in Round 2 and 27th overall with scores of 107-101=208, and Ryder Anderson was 35th in Round 2 and 30th overall with his scores of 108-105=213.
Girls Team Results
The USC girls team was in second place after Round 2 with a combined score of 942. They shot a 461 in the first round.
Triton was in first place with a combined score of 885.
Kenyon-Wanamingo, Hayfield and NRHEG all had incomplete team scores and JWP and Randolph don’t have girls teams this year.
Emma Heggen shot scores of 90-101=191 for Round 1 and 2 and was in second place for Round 2 and overall.
Lauren Hanson shot a 114-131=245 and took eighth place in Round 2 and was in 10th place overall. Maya Hanson shot 124-136=260 for 11th place in Round 2 and overall. Bella Roberts was tied with Maya Hanson for 11th overall and took 14th place in Round 2 with her scores of 133-127=260.
Brynlee Olson shot a 137-126=263 for the two rounds and was in 17th place for Round 2 and 13th place overall.
