USC golfers finish sixth at NRHEG Invite

The United South Central boys golf team participated in a nine-team tournament that was hosted by New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva and played on Waseca’s Lakeside Club Golf Course on Monday, May 19.
The Rebels ended up with a team score of 393 which put them into sixth place.
Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial took first place with a score of 335. In second was St. Peter with 342, Blue Earth Area third at 347, Blooming Prairie fourth at 359, Randolph fifth at 384, host NRHEG seventh with 398, Hayfield eighth at 412 and Kenyon-Wanamingo ninth with an incomplete team score.
However, Kenyon-Wanamingo sophomore Ayden Horsman was the tourney medalist with an 81.
USC’s Brennan Olson led the Rebels with a score of 83, which was good for fifth place and earned Olson a medal.
Octavio Hernandez was second on the Rebel team with a 97 which tied him for 26th place. Mason Schrader shot a 105 for 36th place and Ryder Anderson was in 38th place with a 108 to complete USC’s team score.
Other Rebel scores were Colten Husfeldt with 11 for 40th place and Dylan Stephens with a 120 for 44th place.
The USC Rebel boys team now has a season record of 18-21. Their next golf meet was set to be on Thursday, May 22, for the fourth and final round of the Gopher Conference Golf Tournament to be held back on the Lakeside Club Golf Course in Waseca.
