USC cross country runs at Gerry Smith Invite
The United South Central cross country teams competed in the Gerry Smith Invitational Meet, held on Thursday, Sept. 4 and hosted by the Tri-City United Titans.
The Rebel boys were led by Laiken Farris who had a time of 17:34 which was good for 74th place.
Aiden Edwards had a time of 19:14 and was in 146th place, while Riley Krohnberg was right behind with a time of 19:22 good for 151st place. Gavin Gonsalez’s time of 20:25 put him in 178th place.
“The girls had a tornado siren go off while they were running,” coach Nathan Scruggs said. “So they did not get to complete the race.”
The Rebel junior high boys did compete. Fin Druckenmiller led the way with a time of 10:37 for 98th place, Micah Meyer’s time of 11:34 put him in 124th, Elias Lenz was right behind with a time of 11:37 for 126th place, Owen Gooden was 130th with a time of 11:44 and Basil Kruse was 143rd with a time of 12:37.
