BEA tennis team gets three more wins
Defeat River Valley after going undefeated at Waseca Triangular

It was a joyous ride home on the bus from Sleepy Eye after the Blue Earth Area girls tennis team defeated the River Valley Wildcats 5-2.
The Bucs swept all three doubles matches and won two of the four singles matches to secure the victory.
Playing at No. 1 doubles, BEA’s Carol Schrader and Grace Schavey cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 triumph over River Valley’s Delaney Rex and Bronwyn Sorenson.
The Bucs’ No. 2 doubles team of Erin Prescher and Brooklyn Rosenau also won in straight sets. They defeated the Wildcats’ Dani Junker and Alisyn Danielson 6-1, 6-2.
Mckinley Hanson and Katelyn Storbeck lost only two games in winning the No. 3 doubles match over Jasmine Robertson and Alayna Beyer of River Valley. After winning the first set 6-2, the BEA duo shut out their opponents 6-0 in the second set.
Both of BEA’s wins at singles were by shutouts.
At No. 2 singles, Addison Prescher downed Selene Krohnfeldt 6-0, 6-0.
Abbey Lorenz recorded her 6-0, 6-0 victory in the No. 4 doubles match over the Wildcats’ Alexys Nelson.
River Valley picked up one of their two wins at No. 1 singles. In what proved to be a hard-fought match, River Valley’s Taylor Berkner won the first set over BEA’s Grace Hanson 7-5. However, Hanson battled back in the second set for a 6-4 victory to even the match at one set apiece.
In the deciding set, it was Berkner who came out on top with a 10-6 win.
Chloe Okerman provided River Valley’s other point when she won the No. 3 singles match over BEA’s Abigail Greff 6-2, 6-1.
Waseca Triangular
The Blue Earth Area girls tennis team traveled to Waseca on Saturday, Sept. 13 where they had matches against the Le Sueur-Henderson Giants and the host Waseca Bluejays.
The Bucs picked up two victories by triumphing over the Bluejays 5-2 and narrowly defeating the Giants 4-3.
BEA 5, Waseca 2
The Bucs came out on top against the Waseca Bluejays, defeating them 5-2 at the Waseca tri tournament on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Buc Grace Hanson was defeated by Bluejay Vivian Mader in No. 1 singles, losing 6-1, 3-0.
Addison Prescher defeated Ava Miller in No. 2 singles, winning 6-1, 6-1.
Abigail Greff defeated Pearl Moore in No. 3 singles, winning 6-3, 6-1.
Elaena Schiltz was defeated by Layla Keith in No. 4 singles, losing 6-4, 6-2.
Carol Schrader and Grace Schavey dominated Maddy Benson and Paige Dufault in No. 1 doubles, winning 7-5, 6-3.
Erin Prescher and Brooklyn Rosenau defeated Anna Benson and Hannah Rugger in No. 2 doubles, winning 6-3, 6-2.
Mckinley Hanson and Natalie Schiltz defeated Lucy Deml and Madison Rasche in No. 3 doubles, winning 6-0, 6-3.
BEA 4, LSH 3
The Bucs faced the Le Sueur-Henderson Giants head-on and emerged triumphant, winning 4-3 at the Waseca tri tournament on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Buc Grace Hanson defeated Giant Sallie Nesbit in No. 1 singles, winning 6-4, 6-0.
Addison Prescher defeated Addison Fahey in No. 2 singles, winning 6-3, 6-4.
Abigail Greff was defeated by Libby Genelin in No. 3 singles, losing 7-5, 6-1.
Abbey Lorenz struggled for a comeback, but was ultimately defeated by Maura Krause in No. 4 singles, losing 6-2, 7-6.
Carol Schrader and Grace Schavey struggled to hang on, but were defeated by Teagan Graham and Carlin Straub in No. 1 doubles, losing 6-3, 2-6, 10-7.
Erin Prescher and Brooklyn Rosenau defeated Ava Becker and Kiandra Straub in No. 2 doubles, winning 6-3, 6-3.
Mckinley Hanson and Elaena Schiltz defeated Alice Breaker and Avery Lawrence in No. 3 doubles, winning 7-6, 6-3.
