Also finish second in triangular meet with Worthington and MCA

The BEA/USC gymnastics team had a week of ups and downs, traveling to Fairmont to face off against Worthington and Martin County Area on Thursday, Jan. 29 before taking on New Ulm at a home meet on Monday, Feb. 2.

BEA/USC 139.550, New Ulm 133.375

The BEA/USC girls added another win to their season record with a decisive victory over New Ulm on Feb. 2, putting up a combined team score 139.550 to best New Ulm’s combined team score of 133.375.

Mariah Anderson started her rotation off strong with a first-place finish on vault, scoring 9.425. Parker Stallman came in second with a score of 8.75. Haedyn Cole took third with an 8.6, and Brynlee Amundson scored an 8.45 for a combined team score of 35.225.

Uneven bars was the Bucs’ weakest event of the night, with a combined team score of 32.775. Anderson took the top spot with a score of 9.45, Stallman came in second with a score of 7.9, Cole was third overall with a 7.8, and Amundson placed fourth with a score of 7.625.

Anderson set a new personal best on balance beam, taking first place overall with a score of 9.75. Cole placed third with a score of 8.85. Stallman scored an 8.375, and Kyannah Brandt came in close behind with a score of 8.275 for a combined team score of 35.25.

Anderson set another personal best on floor routine, coming in first overall with a score of 9.8. Stallman also set a new personal best, taking second with a score of 9.2. Cole and Taylynn Amundson rounded out the event with scores of 8.825 and 8.475, respectively. The team’s combined score for floor routine was 36.3.

Anderson finished the night with a first-place finish in all-around, with a combined score of 38.425. Stallman took second with a combined score of 34.225, and Cole placed third with a combined score of 34.075.

Worthington 140.25, BEA/USC 136.950, MCA 134.3

Worthington came out on top at the triangular meet in Fairmont on Jan. 29, triumphing over BEA/USC and MCA with a combined team score of 140.25. BEA/USC took second with a combined team score of 136.950, and MCA finished in third with a combined team score of 134.3.

Anderson once again led her team on uneven bars, scoring a 9.65. Stallman scored an 8.1, Amundson scored 7.65, and Cole came in close behind with a score of 7.55 for a combined score of 32.825.

Anderson was the highest-scoring member of her team on balance beam, scoring a 9.65. Cole set a new personal best with a score of 8.925, Kyannah Brant scored 7.875, and Kailey Boettcher scored a 7.85 for a combined team score of 34.3.

Anderson finished her rotation with a score of 9.325 on floor routine. Cole followed close behind with a score of 8.55, Stallman scored 8.4, and Boettcher rounded out the event with a score of 8.0 for a combined team score of 34.275.

Anderson was the top scorer for her team on all-around, with a combined score of 38.275. Cole had a combined score of 33.55, and Stallman had a combined score of 32.675.

The BEA/USC gymnasts have their next meet at home in a rematch with Worthington on Saturday, Feb. 7. Look for these results and more in a future edition of the Faribault County Register.
