Playoff loss brings end to the Rebels’ basketball season
The United South Central girls basketball season came to an end on Monday night, Feb. 23, when they lost to the Sleepy Eye Indians in the opening round of the Section 2A Tournament.
The final score was 71 to 49 in favor of the No. 6-seeded Indians. The USC Rebels had been seeded No. 11.
Sleepy Eye moves on to play No. 3 seed Cedar Mountain, and the Rebels end their season with a record of eight wins and 18 losses.
Ivy O’Rourke led the Rebels with 19 points and five rebounds. Reanna Obermeyer had a double-double in the game, with 11 points and 11 rebounds. She also had five steals.
Grace Walton added nine points and nine rebounds.
