BEA girls are fourth at St. James Invite
Kyannah Brandt runs to a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash
Blue Earth Area competed in the St. James Invitational Track Meet on Monday, March 30. The meet, which was originally scheduled to be held on Tuesday, March 31, was moved up a day due to a weather forecast which called for cool, windy and possibly wet conditions for the 31st.
Girls Results
The Buccaneer girls finished in the middle of the pack at the seven-team meet.
Minnesota Valley Lutheran took the top honors with 164 points. Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton/Waterville-Elysian-Morristown was the runner-up with 148 points, St. James-Madelia was third with 137.5, BEA was fourth with 81, United South Central placed fifth with 33, Medford was sixth with 22.5 and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton was seventh with 12.
Kyannah Brandt finished first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.4 while Grace Nelson was fifth in 30.2.
Brandt was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.05.
Breanna Hefner-Roggeman placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.17 and Parker Stallman was sixth in 14.49.
Aubrey Woodwick and Amelia Weerts each placed in the top six in the 400-meter dash. Woodwick was fifth in 1:12.6 and Weerts finished sixth in 1:13.4.
The 4×100-meter relay team of Stallman, Khloe McGowen, Amalla Harper and Hefner-Roggeman crossed the finish line in second place with a time of 55.9.
Brandt, Harper, Sidney Eitzmann and Hefner-Roggeman combined to finish third in the 4×200-meter relay with a time of 1:57.47.
In the 4×400-meter relay, Emersen Weir, Ella Swanson, Sidney Eitzmann and Caitlin Eitzmann finished fourth with a time of 4:41.40.
The 4×800-meter relay team of Woodwick, Swanson, Weir and Caitlin Eitzmann had a time of 11:15.02 to finish in second place.
Moving on to the field events, Taylor Ripley topped the field in the shot put with a throw of 30-9 and Ada Ziegler was third with a toss of 29-2.
Ripley’s distance of 81-5 in the discus was good for fifth place.
Brandt was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 14-3.5 and Stallman was sixth with a mark of 13-8.
Boys Results
Caden Juba was fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.10 and third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.8.
Marcus Eckles had a time of 17.59 to finish in third place in the 110-meter high hurdles.
Eckles was also third in the 300-meter low hurdles with a time of 44.1.
Parker Stauffer, Omar Gomez, Hayden Prestegard and Gus Ankeny finished in fifth place in the 4×100-meter relay in 51 seconds.
It was a second-place finish with a time of 1:40.77 for the Bucs’ 4×200-meter relay team of Eckles, Ozuna, Prestegard and Juba.
Chase Gambell was fifth and Omar Gomez was sixth in the shot put. Gambell’s distance was 38-11.5 while Gomez had a throw of 38-4.5.
Simon Holland was fifth in the pole vault. He cleared the bar at a height of 8-0.
Mankato East Indoor Meet
Blue Earth Area competed in their second and final indoor meet of the season on March 26. The meet was hosted by Mankato East and held on the campus of Minnesota State University – Mankato.
Girls Results
Mankato East won the meet with 76 points, New Prague was second with 41.5 and BEA was third with 20.5.
Among the top performances at the meet was a third-place finish by Parker Stallman in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.4.
Kyannah Brandt was fifth in the 200-meter dash in 29.0 and Breanna Hefner-Roggeman was sixth in 29.7.
Ella Swanson placed fourth in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:10 and Aubrey Woodwick was fifth in 1:12.5.
April Garcia was fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 3:19.2 and Makayla Ankeny was sixth in 3:25.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Emersen Weir was third in 11.0 and Brandt was fourth in 11.2.
Brandt, Amalla Harper, Sidney Eitzmann and Hefner-Roggeman ran to a second-place finish in the 4×200-meter relay with a time of 1:59.6.
The 4×400-meter relay team of Woodwick, Caitlin Eistzann, Sidney Eitmann and Weir finished third in 4:45.3.
Taylor Ripley was second in the shot put with a throw of 33-8 and Ada Ziegler was third in 31-1.5.
Caitlin Eitzmann was first in the high jump when she cleared the bar at a height of 4-8. Weir was fourth with a mark of 4-2.
Brandt had a third-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 14-10.5 and Stallman was sixth with a distance of 13-10.
Sidney Eitzmann was fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 28-2.
Boys Results
New Prague topped the boys side of the meet with 75 points, Mankato East was second with 60 and BEA was third with 7.
Parker Stauffer was sixth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.4.
In the 200-meter dash, Caden Juba was fourth in 25.4 and Marcus Eckles was fifth in 25.8.
Gus Ankeny was fourth in the 400-meter dash in 1:04.8 and Gibson Haase was fifth in the 800-meter run in 3:24.6.
Haase was also fifth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 7:16.0.
Eckles crossed the finish line in 9.6 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles to finish in fourth place. Pablo Ozuna was sixth in 10.0.
Eckles, Ozuna, Hayden Prestegard and Juba had a time of 1:43.9 in the 4×200-meter relay to finish in third place.
Parker Stauffer was fifth in the shot put with a toss of 37-0.5 and Chase Gambell was sixth with a distance of 35-10.
Simon Holland was fourth in the pole vault at a height of 7-0.
Juba was second in the long jump with a leap of 17-7 and Eckles was fourth with a mark of 17-1.
Ankeny’s efforts in the triple jump put him in fifth place with a distance of 32-5.
