USC boys finish second at first outdoor meet
Jace Ignazewski takes first place in both the low and high hurdles
The United South Central/Alden-Conger boys and girls track seasons are off and running.
The Rebel teams competed in their third meet of the season, this one an outdoor meet at St. James on Monday, March 30.
USC/AC Boys Results
The USC/AC boys track team came in at second place at the St. James meet. Their team score was 136.
Taking first place was Minnesota Valley Lutheran with a score of 211.5. In third place was Tracy-Milroy-Balaton with 69, St. James-Madelia fourth with 60, Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton/Waterville-Elysian-Morristown fifth with 47.5, Blue Earth Area sixth at 46 and Medford seventh with 26.
Jace Ignaszewski led the team with two first place finishes. He was first in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 17.06 and first in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 42.80.
In addition, Ignaszewski was a member of the 4×400-meter relay team that also took first place with a time of 3:50.50, a personal record. The other members of the team are Dylan Bakkedahl, Caleb Satre and Maxwell Schull.
Jayden Barnick also took a first place in the high jump with a height of 6-0.
Maddox Niebuhr took second in the shot put with a distance of 39-7. Henry Beaver was fourth in the shot put at 39-05.
Garrett Lau was second in the pole vault with a height of 8-6, a personal record. Noah Hartman was third and Joseph Ridler fourth, also both at 8-6 and also personal records,
Parker Lau was second in the discus with a throw of 110-7, and Ezra Edwards was third at 109-6 and Gavin Bird was fourth at 100-11.
Brayden Mithun took a second place in the 400-meter with a time of 56.80.
Max Schull took a second place in the triple jump with a jump of 37-2, and Jace Ignaszewski was fourth at 35-5.
The 4×200-meter relay team of Niebuhr, Samuel Treptow, Dominic Sens and Bakkedahl took fourth with a time of 1:47.53.
The 4×100-meter relay team of Alexis Arguijo, Caleb Satre, Niebuhr and Schull also took fourth, with a time of 48.90.
Aiden Edwards took fourth in the 1600-meter with a personal record time of 5:25.00 as well as taking fourth place in the 800-meter with a personal record best time of 2:26.70.
Parker Lau took fourth in the high jump with a height of 5-2.
Samuel Treptow took fifth in the long jump with a distance of 37-2.
Max Schull took fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.17.
USC/A-C Girls Results
The USC/AC girls took fifth place at the St. James Meet last week with a score of 33.
Taking first place was MVL with 164. In second was JWP/WEM with a score of 148, St. James-Madelia was third at 137.5 and Blue Earth Area was fourth with 81. Medford was sixth at 22.5 and TMB was seventh with 12.
Danyelle Dickson led the team with a third place finish in the 200-meter with a personal record 28.80 time.
There were four fourth place finishers.
Sydney Sauke was fourth in the 110 high hurdles with a time of 18.69. Alexis Guenther was fourth in the 1600-meter with a time of 6:30.00. Elise Hanson was fourth in pole vault with a height of 6-6, a personal record.
And the 4×100-meter relay team of Rebecca Kruse, Sauke, Madison Meyer and Dickson came in fourth with a time of 56.60.
Sauke took fifth place in the triple jump with a leap of 29-2. Alexis Guenther was fifth in the 800-meter race with a personal record time of 2:53.60.
In sixth place was the 4×200-meter relay team of Kruse, Eleanor Satre, Leigha Tolzmann and Meyer with a time of 2:08.51.
