The Buccaneers’ 4x800-meter relay team of Aubrey Woodwick (pictured above), Emersen Weir, Ella Swanson and Caitlin Eitzmann placed second at the Buc Invite and sixth at the Waseca Invitational.

The Blue Earth Area girls and boys track teams participated in the Waseca Invitational Track Meet on Tuesday, April 18.

Girls Results

St. Peter took first place in the girls division with 170 points followed by Byron in second place with 129. Minnesota Valley Lutheran finished third with 94.5 points, Fairmont was fourth with 93, Waseca finished fifth with 57.5, New Ulm was sixth with 37 and BEA was seventh with 27.

The Bucs finished third in the 4×100-meter relay with Breanna Hefner-Roggeman, Amalla Harper, Parker Stallman and Kyannah Brandt turning in a time of 53.41.

Hefner-Roggeman, Harper, Sidney Eitzmann and Brandt were fourth in the 4×200-meter relay with a time of 1:55.21.

The Bucs’ 4×800-meter relay team of Aubrey Woodwick, Emersen Weir, Ella Swanson and Caitlin Eitzmann placed sixth by crossing the line in 11:02.69.

Taylor Ripley had a throw if 32-6 in the shot put to finish in second place.

Ada Ziegler finished sixth in the discus with a toss of 82-6.

Brandt’s leap of 14-7.25 enabled her to finish in fifth place in the long jump.

Boys Results

Fairmont captured first place for the boys with a score of 134 points to narrowly edge second-place Waseca who finished with 126.5.

Finishing in third place was Byron with 104 points, St. Peter was fourth with 98, Minnesota Valley Lutheran placed fifth with 75.5, New Ulm was sixth with 47 and BEA came in seventh with 20.

The Bucs’ Marcus Eckles had a good day competing in the hurdles against some stiff competition.

Eckles finished second in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 16.74 and third in the 300-meter low hurdles with a time of 43.6.

Pablo Ozuna finished sixth in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 19.1

2026 Buc Invite

It was a beautiful afternoon for a track meet on April 10 when Blue Earth Area hosted the 2026 Buc Invite. The temperature was in the 50s with mostly sunny skies and very little wind.

Girls Results

The six-team meet ended with Fairmont claiming first place with 177 points. Finishing in second place was St. James-Madelia with 111 points. The host Buccaneers tallied 93 points to take third place, Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda was fourth with 58 points, Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin was fifth with 51.5 and United South Central/Alden-Conger was sixth with 22.5.

Kyannah Brandt sprinted to a first-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.5. Breanna Hefner-Roggeman placed sixth in 14.17.

In the 400-meter dash, Caitlin Eitzmann had a time of 1:07.77 to finish in second place.

The 4×200-meter relay team of Brandt, Amalla Harper, Sidney Eitzmann and Hefner-Roggeman placed second in 1:57.31.

Aubrey Woodwick, Sidney Eitzmann, Amelia Weerts and Caitlin Eitzmann ran the 4×400-meter relay in 4:42.38 to finish in second place.

In the 4×800-meter relay, Woodwick, Emersen Weir, Ella Swanson and Caitlin Eitzmann had a time of 11:00.28 to take second place.

It was another second-place finish for the Bucs in the 4×100 meter relay. Kloe McGowen, Harper, Parker Stallman and Hefner-Roggeman crossed the finish line with a time of 55.52 to earn their runner-up honors.

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Brandt, Harper, Jadyn Volz and Madelyn Humburg finished in third place with a time of 1:25.4.

Taylor Ripley was third in the shot put with a toss of 30-6 and Ada Ziegler was sixth with a toss of 28-7.5.

Ziegler placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 86-3. Ripley was fifth with a mark of 84-3.

Brandt won the long jump with a leap of 15-0. Stallman’s leap of 13-10.5 was good for fifth place.

Caitlin Eitzmann was third in the high jump when she cleared the bar at a height of 4-7.

Boys Results

Fairmont took the top spot in the boy’s competition with 180 points. The Rebels from United South Central/Alden-Conger placed second with 94 points. Third place went to St. James-Madelia with 89 points, fourth was Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda with 59, fifth was Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin with 42 and BEA was sixth with 39.

Marcus Eckles continues to do well in the hurdles this year. The senior placed second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.46. Pablo Ozuna was fifth in 47.13.

Oliver Ankeny was fourth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:51.15.

The 4×400-meter relay team of Eckles, Ben Roper, Ozuna and Ankeny finished fourth in 4:00.3.

Ankeny placed fifth in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:00.02.

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Eckles, Ozuna, Henry Survis and Gabriel Petersen was second in 1:15.54.

Parker Stauffer had a toss of 37-5 in the shot put to place sixth.

Eckles had a leap of 18-3 in the long jump to finish in sixth place.
