The Blue Earth Area boys tennis team turned their season around with a three-meet winning streak, sweeping Pipestone at an away meet on Thursday, April 23, before defeating both Fairmont and Spirit Lake at their home triangular meet on Saturday, April 25.

BEA 4, Spirit Lake 3

The BEA Buccaneers had a very tight match against the Spirit Lake Indians, coming away with a 4-3 win at their triangular meet on April 25.

BEA’s Ryder Dutton achieved a comeback win against Indian Luke Schneider in No. 1 singles, winning 4-6, 6-3, 10-4.

Devin Haase defeated JD Granert in No. 2 singles, winning 6-2, 6-2.

Nolan Hagedorn fell to Owen Riphagen in No. 3 singles, losing 6-1, 6-1.

Jack Bell was defeated in No. 4 singles by Pedro Fagundes, losing 6-2, 6-2.

Mitchell Stevermer and David Bautista triumphed over Ben Wykoff and Aldon Welle in No. 1 doubles, winning 7-5, 6-1.

Eli Goshorn and Caleb Goshorn held on to defeat Tucker Nikkel and Landon Mortuedt in No. 2 doubles, winning 6-4, 7-5.

Hayden Prestegard and Connor Hoerth were defeated by Oliver Harris and Levi Samuelson in No. 3 doubles, losing 6-3, 6-4.

BEA 5, Fairmont 2

The Bucs continued their winning streak with a victory against the Fairmont Cardinals, defeating them 5-2 at the triangular meet on April 25.

The Buc’s Ryder Dutton defeated Cardinal Tyler Slama in No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1.

Devin Haase swept John Vetter in No. 2 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0.

Nolan Hagedorn held on to defeat Lilly Ortiga in No. 3 singles, winning 7-2, 7-4.

Jack Bell was defeated in No. 4 singles by Hudson Clayton, losing 6-1, 6-4.

Mitchell Stevermer and David Bautista swept Aiden Mutcheler and Audrina Suchow in No. 1 doubles, winning 6-0, 6-0.

Eli Goshorn and Caleb Goshorn defeated Leander Nelson and Parker Oken in No. 2 doubles, winning 6-1, 8-6.

Hayden Prestegard and and Connor Hoerth attempted a comeback, but were ultimately defeated by Jensen Schomberg and Cameron Nelson in No. 3 doubles, losing 6-2, 5-7, 10-8.

BEA 7, Pipestone 0

The BEA Bucs completely shut out the Pipestone Arrows at their away meet on April 23 with a dominant 7-0 victory.

Ryder Dutton defeated the Arrows’ Brady Dunn in No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1.

Devin Haase triumphed over Matthew Swenson in No. 2 doubles, winning 6-1, 6-0.

David Bautista bested Joel Cardenas in No. 3 singles, winning 6-1, 6-0.

Eli Goshorn held on to his early lead to defeat Mikah Weets in No. 4 singles, winning 6-4, 6-1.

Mitchell Stevermer and Noah Hanson won their No. 1 doubles match due to a forfeit by Pipestone.

Pipestone also had to forfeit at No. 2 doubles, granting Jack Bell and Nolan Hagedorn the win.

Caleb Goshorn and Hayden Prestegard took the final win in No. 3 doubles due to a forfeit by Pipestone.

The Bucs faced off against Worthington at an away meet on Thursday, April 30, then returned home to challenge New Ulm on Friday, May 1. Look for these results and more in a future edition of the Register.
