USC/AC boys top field at Blue Earth
Rebels have a number of first-place performances at the meet
USC/AC’s Danyelle Dickson is ahead of the pack while sprinting to the finish line in the 400-meter dash at the Blue Earth Area Track Meet on April 24.
The United South Central/Alden-Conger track teams competed at the Dewey Escher Invitational on Tuesday, April 28, in Lake Crystal with the boys finishing in third place and the girls taking fourth place.
USC/AC Boys Results
Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial-Nicollet won the meet with 156 points, St. Clair/Immanuel Lutheran was second with 113, USC/AC finished third with 59, Blue Earth Area was fourth with 33 and Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther was fifth with 20.
The Rebels had a couple of first-place finishes at the meet.
Maxwell Schull placed first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.37 and Jayden Barnick won the high jump at a height of 5-9.
Schull was fourth in the 100-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 11.92.
In the 800-meter run, Riley Krohnberg had a time of 2:30.77 to finish fourth, Dylan Bakkedahl was fifth in 2:35.03 and Aiden Edwards came in sixth in 2:37.65.
Jace Ignaszewski was third in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 16:51 while Barnick was sixth in 19.23.
The 300-meter low hurdles saw Ignaszewski take second place with a time of 43.09.
The Rebels had two teams finish in the top five in the 4×100-meter relay race. Alexis Arguijo, Jaiden Aranda, Bakkedahl and Gavin Bird had a time of 50.43 to finish in third place. Bronson Musser, Logan Stangler, Jameson Ammerman and Brayden Schultz finished fifth in 58.39.
Musser, Hayden Grunzke, Schultz and Carson Watson were fifth in the 4×200-meter relay with a time of 1:55.61.
The 4×400-meter relay team of Ignaszewski, Barnick, Brayden Mithun and Schull was fourth with a time of 4:25.43.
In the 4×800-meter relay, Caleb Satre, Joseph Ridler, Krohnberg and Aiden Edwards had a time of 10:06.2 to place second.
Maddex Nieburh was fourth in the shot put with a distance of 42-6.5.
Ezra Edwards was second in the discus with a throw of 141-11 and Parker Lau was fifth with a mark of 116-3.
In the pole vault, Benjamin Schwartz cleared the bar at 8-6 to take fourth place.
Mithun was third in the long jump with a leap of 18-3.
Schull’s distance of 38-5.5 in the triple jump was good for fifth place.
USC/AC Girls Results
St. Clair/Immanuel Lutheran topped the field for the girls with 133 points followed by Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial-Nicollet with 113. Coming in third place with 65 points was Blue Earth Area, United South Central/Alden-Conger was fourth with 32 and Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther placed fifth with 28.
Danyelle Dickson finished fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.05.
In the 1600-meter run, Alexis Guenther had a time of 6:11.74 to finish in second place.
The Rebels had four of the top six spots in the 100-meter high hurdles. Jaylee Ignaszewski was third in 18.66, Tatum Stangler took fourth in 18.93, Aria Johnson was fifth in 19.14 and Elise Hanson placed sixth with a time of 19.46.
Chloe Bullerman’s time of 53.22 in the 300-meter low hurdles was good for second place while Hanson finished fifth in 60.22.
Eva Aranda Rodriguez, Juliana Dulas, Madison Meyer and Stangler finished fourth in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 57.7.
Finishing fifth in the 4×200-meter relay with a time of 2:09.38 was the team of Aria Johnson, Kelie Cords, Ignaszewski and Clara Bushlack.
Jaelyn Stangler was sixth in the shot put with a toss of 28-6.
Tatum Stangler was third in the high jump with a height of 4-3.
Dulas placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 29-1.
