Area tracksters qualify for Section

BEA and USC athletes will try to earn a trip to State on May 30

BEA’s Aubrey Woodwick qualified for Sections in the 800-meter run and 4x800-meter relay.

A number of athletes from Blue Earth Area and United South Central/Alden-Conger track teams will be moving on to the Section 2A Meet on May 30 after qualifying at the Section 2A South SubSection Meet on May 21 in St. James.

The top eight individuals in each event along with the top four relay teams in each event qualified to move on to the Section 2A Championship to be held in Janesville.

Girl Qualifiers

Kyannah Brandt of BEA qualified in the 100-meter dash with a third-place time of 12.95. Peyton Schrader of USC qualified in the wheelchair division with a winning time of 1:01.95.

The Rebels’ Danyelle Dickson was third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.61.

Schrader qualified in the 200-meter wheel chair race with a first-place time of 2:06.39.

The Bucs’ Caitlin Eitzmann was sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:06.89.

BEA’s Emersen Weir and Aubrey Woodwick each qualified in the 800-meter run. Weir was second in 2:31.16 and Woodwick was sixth in 2:39.02.

Alexis Guenther of the Rebels qualified in the 1600-meter run with a sixth-place time of 5:51.72.

USC’s Sydney Sauke and Aria Johnson each qualified in the 100-meter high hurdles. Sauke was fourth in 17.57 and Johnson was eighth in 18.36.

The Rebels’ Choe Bullerman finished fifth in the 300-meter low hurdles.

BEA’s 100-meter relay team of Breanna Hefner-Roggeman, Amalia Harper, Parker Stallman and Brandt placed second in the 4×100-meter relay in 52.73.

The Bucs’ 4×200-meter relay team of Hefner-Roggeman, Harper, Sidney Eitzmann and Brandt also qualified for Sections with a third-place time of 1:52.25.

Weir, Ella Swanson, Sidney Eitzmann and Caitlin Eitzmann of BEA move on to Sections with a fourth place time of 4:33.10 in the 4×400-meter relay.

The Bucs’ team of Woodwick, Weir, Swanson and Caitlin Eitzmann finished first in the 4×800-meter relay in 10:22.09.

BEA’s Taylor Ripley qualified in the shot put with a second-place toss of 33-0 while teammate Ada Ziegler qualified by placing sixth in the discus.

USC’s Elise Hanson was seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 7-06 and BEA’s Stallman was eighth at the same height.

Three area athletes qualified in the long jump. BEA’s Brandt was third with a leap of 15-10.25 and Stallman was fourth with a distance of 15-07. USC’s Eva Aranda Rodriguez was eighth at 14-03.5.

USC’s Julianna Davis and Sauke each qualified in the triple jump. Dulas was fourth at 31-03 and Suake was fifth at 30-08.

Boy Qualifiers

The Rebels’ Alexis AJ Arguijo qualified in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.04 and in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.65.

USC’s Maxwell Schull and Dylan Bakkedahl each qualified in the 400-meter dash. Schull was second in 50:34 and Bakkedhahl was fifth in 55.99.

Laiken Farris of the Rebels qualified in the 3200-meter run in 11:28.14.

BEA’s Marcus Eckles qualified in the 110-meter high hurdles by finishing sixth in 16.37.

Jace Ignaszewski of USC and Eckles each qualified in the 300-meter low hurdles. Ignaszewski was second in 41.61 and Eckles was third in 42.49.

USC’s 4×800-meter relay team qualified with a third-place finish in 9:22.73. Members of the team were Caleb Satre, Dylan Bakkedahl, Riley Krohnberg and Anthony Edwards.

The Rebels’ Maddex Niebuhr qualified in the shot put with a toss of 43-03.5 to finish in seventh place.

Ezra Edwards of USC finished third in the discus with a throw of 150-02.

Jayden Barnick of the Rebels won the high jump with a mark of 6-01 and Parker Lau was sixth at 5-04.
