BE Lions Club votes to be dissolved
After 65 years of service to the community of Blue Earth, the Blue Earth Lions Club members have voted to dissolve. The vote to do so came at their recent June meeting. The main reason was a decline in membership, specifically a decline in the number of active members, says long-time member Dean Vereide, who has served as the club’s secretary for nearly 25 years. “It has been a slow decline,” Vereide says. “We list 23 members right now, but some of those don’t pay dues, or only pay dues and don’t attend meetings or work on our projects.
