Wells – Norbert Paul Sonnek, age 78, of Wells, died Sunday, May 16, 2021. A Memorial Service was held Saturday, May 22, 2021 at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. Burial was in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery in Wells, full military honors accorded by the Wells Color Guard. Please see brussheitner.com to leave an online condolence.

Norbert was born July 6, 1942, the son of John and Mary (Schmidt) Sonnek in Wells. Norbert attended Wells High School, class of 1961. He was a US Navy, Merchant Marine. He married Marlene Schroeder, she passed away and he later married Linda Staloch.

Norbert is survived by his wife, Linda Sonnek, of Wells; four children: Todd (Kim) Sonnek, of Shevlin, Michele (Jerry) Alphs, of Kiester, Karla (Erik) Bangert, of Albert Lea, and Matthew (Heather) Sonnek of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Francis “Shorty” (Alma) Sonnek, of Wells; sisters, Bernice Harris, of California, LaVonn Sonnek, of Wells, and Dorene Schram of Arizona; sisters-in-law, Leona Yokiel, of Wells, Doris Glazier, of Le Sueur, Alice (Les) Peterson, of Colorado; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
