Daniel David Danks was born on Dec. 10, 1955, to Donald and Vivian (Blom) Danks in Blue Earth. He graduated from Blue Earth Area High School where he was a gifted athlete in baseball, wrestling, and football. His determination and drive led him to state appearances in all three sports and allowed him to shine on the football field at the college level playing for Worthington Community College and Mankato State University.

On Dec. 27, 1975, Dan married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Monica Ann Moore at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth. They were blessed with two children and best friends, David Dean and Katie Sue and son-in-law, Joshua Krahmer in 2010. In 2012, his granddaughter, Karlee Danica Krahmer was born and filled a space with so much love in his heart, that he never knew existed. He adored her and she brought so much joy to his life.

On Aug. 18, 1982, Dan and Monica purchased a small restaurant located on beautiful Hall Lake in Fairmont, named the Channel Inn. Together, working hand in hand every day, they built a staple in their small community. Their passion, strong work ethic, and leadership was instilled in their children and the business was turned over to them on Aug. 18, 2021. Retiring after 39 years, Dan and Monica made their home in Harlingen, Texas.

Dan loved to connect with people and finding a nickname for anyone he encountered. He enjoyed and had a passion for hunting, sports, coffee hour, and golf days with the boys. Up until the end, his positive outlook remained with him, his memories shared, funnies made and his love abounding. He was always fair and honest with everyone he met and had the most generous heart. He adored his wife, was proud of his children and had an irreplaceable bond with his grand- daughter. He always showed up with love and strength to take on this world for his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Monica Danks; children, David Danks and Katie Krahmer and her husband, Joshua; granddaughter, Karlee Danica; siblings, Peggy (Don) Day, Paula (Joe) Drahos, Darrel (Sheryl) Danks, and Jennie (Bill) Andrews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carol Moore, Mary Demeules, Father Jon Moore, Mark (Judy) Moore, and Brian (Alexis) Moore; two aunts, Donna Blom and Helen (Jerry) McCormick; as well as several nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
