Donna A. Foster, 59

Sherburn – Donna Ann Foster, 59, of Sherburn, MN, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on Dec. 12, 2025, at Ava’s House Hospice in Sioux Falls, SD.

Born on June 12, 1966, in Winnebago, Donna attended Winnebago High School and later worked in sales with Combined Insurance. After earning a diploma in business from Rochester Community and Technical College in 1992, she went on to work for IBM, where her business background and knowledge of computer systems made the work especially rewarding for her. In 1995, she moved to Elmore, and worked for United Hospital District Home Health before settling in Welcome, in 1997 to devote herself fully to raising her three children.

Above all, Donna was a devoted mother and a kind soul who was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was a mentor, teacher, caregiver, and friend whose cheerfulness brightened the lives of those who knew her. An avid crocheter, she created many warm blankets and mittens for winter clothing drives. She found joy in the quiet comforts of home, caring for her beloved dog, Toby, tending to her bird feeders, and enjoying the scent of lilac blooms. Her interest in genealogy and family stories carried into her love of rustic antique shops and was reflected in the thoughtful pieces she chose to decorate her home.

Donna was preceded in death by her special friend, Rick Walker; her father, Keith; and her grandparents, William and Jesse (Maptson) Foster and Lloyd and Lucinda (Gellert) Terry. She is survived by her children, Joshua, Jackie, and Samantha; her mother, Marilyn Foster; and her sisters, Sharon, Joni, Carla, and Mary.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 11 a.m., Foundations Bible Church, 205 Cleveland Ave. W., Winnebago, MN 56098. Interment will take place at a later date at Rosehill Cemetery in Winnebago.
