BEA/USC finishes fourth at the Mankato Flip for a Cure Invitational

The Blue Earth Area/United South Central gymnastics team started their season off strong, defeating Windom Area at their home meet on Thursday, Dec. 4 before traveling to Mankato for the Flip for a Cure Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 6, which featured a total of eight teams.

Mankato Invite

Mankato East came out on top at the Flip for a Cure Invitational on Dec. 6 with a score of 141.6, just barely beating out Mankato West, who came in second with a score of 141.05. The West Salem Co-op team took third with a score of 136.7. BEA/USC came in fourth with a score of 135.0, followed by New Ulm in fifth with a score of 130.575. Austin took sixth with a score of 128.9, Faribault was seventh with a score of 127.875, and St. Peter was eighth with a score of 114.4.

BEA/USC put their best foot forward on vault, with Mariah Anderson taking first place overall with a score of 9.55. Parker Stallman secured ninth place with a score of 8.8. Haedyn Cole scored an 8.65, and Brynlee Amundson scored 8.425 to earn a combined team score of 35.425.

Anderson also took the top spot in uneven bars with a score of 9.7. Stallman came in fifth place overall, with a score of 8.5. Audrey Schonborn scored 7.525, and Cole rounded out the team with a score of 7.45 for a combined team score of 33.175.

Anderson yet again scored high on balance beam, placing second overall with a score of 9.4. Cole scored a 7.675, Kailey Boettcher scored a 7.6, and Kyannah Brandt scored a 6.75 for a combined team score of 31.425.

Anderson completed her rotation with a strong showing on floor routine, placing second overall with a score of 9.6. Stallman scored 8.675, Becca Kruse came in close behind with a score of 8.425, and Cole scored 8.275 for a combined team score of 34.975.

Anderson placed second overall in all-around, with a total score of 38.25 across all four events. Stallman ended her day of competition with a combined score of 32.675, and Cole had a combined score of 32.05.

BEA/USC 133.825,

Windom Area 111.425

The BEA/USC Bucs opened their gymnastics season with a definitive win over the Windom Area Eagles at their home meet on Dec. 4, with a total team score of 133.825 compared to the Eagles’ 111.425.

Mariah Anderson led her team in all four events, taking first place in every single event, starting with a score of 9.5 on vault. Parker Stallman’s score of 9.05 earned her second place, Haedyn Cole came in third with a score of 8.825, and Brynlee Amundson placed fourth with a score of 8.75 for a combined team score of 36.125.

Anderson placed first again on uneven bars with a score of 9.45. Stallman earned another second place ranking with a score of 7.625, Cole placed third with a score of 7.25, and Amundson took fourth with a score of 6.95 for a team score of 31.275.

Balance beam marked Anderson’s third first-place of the meet with a score of 9.2. Kailey Boettcher took second place with a score of 7.85. Cole placed third with a score of 7.6, and Brynlee Olson earned fifth place with a score of 7.2 for a team score of 31.85.

Anderson cemented her winning streak with a first-place finish on floor routine, earning a score of 9.05. Stallman earned second place with a score of 8.625, Cole took third with a score of 8.5, and Becca Kruse placed fourth with a score of 8.4 for a combined team score of 34.575.

Anderson took first place in all-around with a combined score of 37.2 across all four events, and teammate Cole took second place with a combined score of 32.175.

The BEA/USC gymnasts hit the road for their next meet, traveling to take on Jackson County Central on Thursday, Dec. 11. Look for these results and more in an upcoming edition of the Faribault County Register.
