USC/AC boys place third at NRHEG Meet
Rebel boys finish seventh at Section 2A True Team competition

The United South Central/Alden-Conger track teams competed in the 14-team Section 2A True Team Track Meet held at Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton High School on Tuesday, May 5.
USC/AC Boys Results
The championship for the boys was won by Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial-Nicollett with 729 points. Maple River was the runner-up with 705.5 and Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton/Waterville-Elysian-Morristown was third with 676 points.
USC/AC tallied a total of 522.5 points which put them in seventh place.
Jayden Barnick was the Rebels’ only first-place finisher on the day. Barnick cleared the high jump bar at a height of 6-0 to win that event.
Jace Ignaszewski placed second in the low hurdles and third in the high hurdles. His time in the 300-meter low hurdles was 42.38 while he ran the 110-meter hurdles in 16.06.
Ignaszewski also joined Jayden Barnick, Brayden Mithun and Maxwell Schull to place fifth in the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 3:46.02.
Schull crossed the finish line in 53.26 in the 400-meter dash to finish in fourth place.
Ezra Edwards threw the discus 143-3 to place fourth while teammate Parker Lau had a mark of 129-9 to finish in sixth place.
In the shot put, Maddex Niebuhr’s toss of 41-8 was good for sixth place.
Schull placed fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 39-6.
USC/AC Girls Results
St. Clair/Immanuel Lutheran placed first in the girls competition with 719 points. Coming in second was Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton/Waterville-Elysian-Morristown with 707.5 points and Minnesota Valley Lutheran was third with 702.5.
United South Central/AC had a total of 349 points to finish in 12th place.
Danyelle Dickson placed sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.61.
In the 400-meter dash, Dickson’s time of 1:05.05 was good for seventh place.
Sydney Sauke completed the 100-meer high hurdles to finish in sixth place.
The 4×100-meter relay team of Eva Aranda Rodriguez, Juliana Dulas, Madison Meyer and Tatum Stangler finished eighth with a time of 55.96.
NRHEG Track Meet
Both the girls and boys United South Central/Alden-Conger track teams competed at the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Track Meet on Thursday, April 30.
The boys team was in third place with 43.75 points. Albert Lea took first with 136.25, Loyola-Cleveland/MCA took second with 52.25 and NRHEG was fourth with 39.75.
The girls team finished in fourth place with 10.5 points. In first place was Loyola-Cleveland/MCA with 128, in second was NRHEG with 84 and in third was Albert Lea with 46.5.
USC/AC Boys Results
The Rebel boys had four first place finishes.
Maxwell Schull was first in the 400 meter with a time of 52.1. Laiken Farris took first in the 3200 meter with a personal best time of 11.59.1. Ezra Edwards took first in the discus with a personal best distance of 147-4. Jayden Barnick took first in the high jump going 6-2.
Schull also took second in the triple jump, going 38-6.5.
Barnick was third in the 100 high hurdles with a personal best time of 18.2. Maddox Niebuhr took third in the shot put with a toss of 45-6.5, a personal best distance.
Taking third in the 3200 meter race was Riley Krohnberg with a personal best time of 12:21. Aiden Edwards was fourth in the 3200 meter with a time of 12:27.4.
Also taking a fourth place finish was Alexis Arguijo who tied for fourth in the 100 meter dash.
USC/AC Girls Results
The Rebel girls had three tracksters place at the meet.
Taking second in the discus was Jaelyn Stangler who had a personal best distance of 87-10.
Elise Hanson was third in the pole vault, going a height of 6-6 in her jump.
Jaylee Ignaszewski was tied for fourth in the 100 high hurdles with a time of 18.5.
