Bucs’ tennis team goes 2-1 for the week
Boys sandwich win over Cards and Trojans around loss to Eagles

It was a week of ups and down for the Blue Earth Area boys tennis team, defeating Worthington at an away meet on Thursday, April 30, then suffering a loss to New Ulm at home on Friday, May 1, and then sweeping Luverne at home on Tuesday, May 5.
BEA 7, Luverne 0
The BEA Buccaneers clipped the wings of the Luverne Cardinals, defeating them 7-0 at their home meet on May 5.
Buccaneer Ryder Dutton swept Cardinal Eli Henrichs in No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Devin Haase triumphed over Austin Sandbulte, winning 6-0, 6-0 in No. 2 singles.
David Bautista defeated Chris Severns in No. 3 singles, winning 6-1, 6-0.
Nolan Hagedorn won in No. 4 singles due to a forfeit from Luverne.
Noah Hanson and Mitchell Stevermer defeated Justin Mulder and Cooper Thone in No. 1 doubles, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Luverne had to forfeit in No. 2 doubles, granting Eli Goshorn and Caleb Goshorn the win.
Hayden Prestegard and Jack Bell won their No. 3 doubles match due to a forfeit by Luverne.
New Ulm 6, BEA 1
The New Ulm Eagles flew away with the win against BEA, handing them a 6-1 loss at their home meet on May 1.
Ryder Dutton scored the only point for BEA, defeating the Eagles’ Charlie Weidman in No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-2.
Devin Haase was defeated by Dan Brownfield in No. 2 singles, losing 6-4, 6-4.
David Bautista lost to Isaac Dittmer, falling 6-3, 7-5 in No. 3 singles.
Nolan Hagedorn fought hard against Griffin Lelane, but was ultimately defeated in No. 4 singles 6-3, 6-3.
Noah Hanson and Mitchell Stevermer jumped out to an early lead, but were overpowered by Wyatt Feucht and Thomas Lehre in No. 1 doubles, losing 1-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Caleb Goshorn and Eli Goshorn tried to hold on, but were ultimately defeated by Everett Brown and Ryan Johnson in No. 2 doubles, falling 2-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Hayden Prestegard and Jack Bell were defeated in No. 3 doubles by Hayden Owens and Cole Frederick, 7-5, 6-2.
BEA 6, Worthington 1
The Bucs went toe-to-toe with the Worthington Trojans and came out on top, winning 6-1 at their away meet on April 30.
The Bucs’ Ryder Dutton defeated Trojan Daelen Sithad in No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Devin Haase held on to defeat Moises Segura in No. 2 singles, winning 6-2, 6-0.
David Bautista had a close match against Ryker Fricke in No. 3 singles, but ultimately won 9-7, 6-4.
Nolan Hagedorn defeated Rylan Fletcher in No. 4 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1.
Noah Hanson and Mitchell Stevermer fought hard, but were ultimately defeated in No. 1 doubles by Cristian Miranda and Colton Olmanson, losing 3-6, 6-4, 11-9.
Caleb Goshorn and Eli Goshorn held on to defeat Benjamin Potts and Phineas Landen in No. 2 doubles, winning 6-4, 6-0.
Hayden Prestegard and Jack Bell were triumphant in No. 3 doubles, defeating Nick Martinez and Moo Wah 6-1, 6-2.
